Produced on the Rhinns of the Isle of Islay, Scotland, Bruichladdich Micro-Provenance Single Cask #1188 is an unpeated single malt that exemplifies the distillery’s commitment to barley and barrel transparency. Originally established in 1881, Bruichladdich was famously resurrected in 2001 and is currently owned by Rémy Cointreau.
Whisky Description
This 13-year-old expression, distilled in 2010 from unpeated Optic barley, presents a bright straw hue in the glass. The nose offers a vibrant bouquet of citrus zest, green orchard fruits, and a touch of vanilla, balanced by light floral notes. On the palate, it is creamy and medium-bodied, featuring layers of lemon, green apple, and toasted oak spice that transition into a delicate, airy sweetness. The finish is medium-long and clean, characterized by a lingering fruit sweetness and a subtle, signature maritime saltiness.
