Uncle Val's Botanical Gin is a distinctive small-batch American gin that showcases an unconventional botanical blend inspired by the garden of founder Val Dorgatt's eccentric uncle. Crafted in California, this gin breaks from traditional juniper-heavy profiles by incorporating five key botanicals—juniper, cucumber, lemon, sage, and lavender—that create a uniquely aromatic and herbaceous character. The result is a lighter, more floral and garden-fresh gin that appeals to those seeking something different from London Dry styles while still maintaining enough structure and complexity for classic cocktails. Each botanical is carefully selected and balanced to shine through without overwhelming, creating a gin that's both approachable for those new to the spirit and intriguing for enthusiasts seeking craft expressions with personality. The elegant presentation and thoughtful botanical selection make Uncle Val's a conversation-starter that bridges the gap between traditional gin and the modern American craft movement.
On the nose, Uncle Val's Botanical Gin reveals an inviting bouquet of fresh cucumber, bright lemon, and floral lavender with underlying juniper and herbal sage notes that create aromatic complexity. The palate delivers a smooth, well-rounded experience where cucumber coolness and citrus brightness meet subtle floral elegance and earthy sage, all supported by a gentle juniper foundation that provides structure without dominating. The finish is clean and refreshing with lingering cucumber, citrus, and delicate floral notes. This gin's lighter, more herbaceous profile makes it particularly well-suited for gin and tonics where its unique botanicals can shine, refreshing summer cocktails like Tom Collins or gin fizzes, and modern craft cocktails that benefit from cucumber and floral notes. It also works beautifully in martinis for those who prefer a softer, more aromatic gin profile. Whether you're exploring American craft gins beyond traditional styles, seeking a gin with distinctive botanical character that stands out in cocktails, or looking for an approachable expression that showcases how creative botanical selection can redefine what gin can be, Uncle Val's Botanical Gin delivers garden-fresh complexity and California craft spirit innovation in every pour.
